Advancing Science for Kentuckians (ASK) Scholarship

A scholarship for full-time sophomores or above who display financial need and who are studying earth and environmental sciences.Up to $1,000.

 

Bill and Diane Spies Scholarship

Award given to an undergraduate student majoring in geology who has overcome hardships or obstacles. Up to $2,500. 

 

Hagan-Rice Memorial Tuition Scholarship

Junior or senior major in the geological sciences with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and who have personal traits that enhance the recognition of the science. Up to $1,000.

 

Curt and Jean Hull-Ed Harris Scholarship

One Hull Scholarship is awarded to a senior who attends to apply to the UK geology graduate program. Preference is given to a student with a demonstrated interest in environmental geology. One Hull Scholarship is awarded to a student from Kentucky majoring in the geological sciences. Preference is given to a student from McCracken County, Kentucky, and who has a demonstrated interest in environmental geology. One Harris Scholarship is awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior who has changed their major to geology. Preference is given to a student who is a United States military veteran. Each scholarship award can be up to $3,000.

 

Jay G. Henthorne, Jr. Scholarship

Awarded to a junior or senior geological sciences major having a minimum 3.0 overall GPA, or a highly qualified prospective graduate student who intends to enroll in the EES graduate program. Up to $1,000.

 

James S. Hudnall Scholarship

Awarded for outstanding academic performance and an interest in field geology. Up to $1,500 each.

 

George W. Pirtle Scholarship

Awarded to a junior undergraduate geological sciences major with the leading overall GPA and faculty recommendation. Up to $2,000.

 

Rast-Brown Scholarship

Two are awarded to freshman or sophomore geological sciences majors with demonstrated financial needs. Consideration will be given to applicants that are first-generation college students and/or underrepresented in the program. Two are awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student making significant contributions, scholarly or otherwise, to the geological sciences. Up to $2,500 each.

 

Sigma Gamma Epsilon Tarr Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating senior with a strong academic record and who made a valuable contribution to the vitality of the program during their undergraduate career. Up to $500.

 

Spaulding-Moore Undergraduate Research and Field Scholarship

Awarded to undergraduate student(s) who are Kentucky natives, are in good standing in the geological sciences program, and conducting research in need of partial support. Amount to be determined.

 

Sullivan Academic Excellence in Geology Scholarship

Awarded to an EES graduating senior in geological sciences that has been accepted into the EES graduate program and demonstrated high likelihood for academic success. Preference is given to applicants who graduated from a high school in Kentucky. Up to $2,000.
